OptClass — School management

School workspace in the web app (`/school`) and OptClass product — students, teachers, schedules, and session-based attendance.

OptClass is the school management product (including the OptClass mobile apps). In the web app, staff use the School workspace at /school to manage students, teachers, schedules, and attendance.

The School workspace is separate from HR — designed for the student/teacher model, not the employee/manager model.

Who uses what

Staff (Admin, HR, Manager, Employee) open the School workspace in the staff web app at /school. All four staff roles have access when the workspace is enabled.

Students use the OptClass kiosk-style experience. They do not use the staff web app and are actively blocked from it. See OptClass Student Access.

Enabling the School workspace

The School workspace is not enabled by default. It requires the school_accessible metadata claim on your company. Contact Optserv support to activate.

Once enabled, all staff can access /school and begin adding students, teachers, and schedules.
