Pricing: Free vs Paid

Compare the Community (free) and Business with Access (paid) plans — employees, storage, hiring limits, and School quotas.

Optserv has two main tiers. The Community plan is free and covers small teams. Business with Access unlocks higher limits and is priced per seat.

The teacher limit on the free plan mirrors the free employee cap (15). This is intentional — teachers are staff-level users in the system.

Understanding seat counts

On the Business with Access plan, your seat count is set in your subscription (subscription.user_count). If unset, the backend defaults to 1,000 seats.

Seats count active employees, not historical records. Offboarded employees do not consume a seat.

What the free plan is good for

The Community plan is designed for small teams getting started:

  • Up to 15 employees using all HR workflows
  • Up to 3 active job postings at a time
  • Enough storage for contracts, offer letters, and basic company files

If your team is under 15 and you're not running high-volume hiring, the free plan covers your needs.

When to upgrade

Consider Business with Access when:

  • You're approaching 15 active employees
  • You need more than 3 concurrent job postings
  • You want Account Sharing for credential management
  • Your hiring volume exceeds 25 applicants per role
  • You need more than 2 GB of document storage
